The introduction of Starlink Niue internet represents an important step toward improving connectivity for one of the most remote island nations in the Pacific. By leveraging a network of low-Earth-orbit satellites operated by SpaceX, Starlink has the potential to deliver high-speed, low-latency broadband to communities that have historically faced limited internet access. While regulatory challenges remain, satellite internet technology could play a key role in bridging the digital divide and supporting economic growth across Niue and other remote Pacific islands.

The Starlink Galápagos connectivity project has transformed internet access across the remote Galápagos Islands. By deploying Starlink’s Community Gateway technology, CNT EP replaced outdated satellite systems with high-speed, low-latency connectivity delivering up to 10 Gbps speeds. The solution reduced operational costs by 55%, increased internet sales tenfold, and avoided environmentally harmful submarine cable construction. This initiative demonstrates how satellite technology can bridge the digital divide while protecting fragile ecosystems.
